WebFor ocean shipping, cargo freight class is determined based on a variety of factors, including value, weight, length, density, and more. There are currently 18 possible freight classifications. The lighter and easier to handle the freight, the lower its classification. High-value and potentially dangerous cargo will be given higher classifications. WebClass 300—Items 2-3lb/cubic foot. Class 400—Items 1-2lb/cubic foot. Class 500—Items less than 1lb/cubic foot.
